Typing in my handwriting

Handwriting Sample

I’ve created a font before – it was an excruciatingly slow process so when I heard digital planet talking about yourfonts on the podcast earlier in the week I decided to give it another go. This one took all of twenty minutes or so. The rest of the post contains the text version of the graphic above in case people can’t read my writing.

This is a sample of my handwriting created as a font at http://www.YourFonts.com. I decided to do this after listening to the most recent digital planet podcast. I don’t think that it looks too bad. The kerning could be improved. It looks more realistic and closer to my handwriting when the character spacing drops to around 80%.

There’s also a few letters that I think I might need to improve, but I’ll probably do this on screen in a paint programme (Paint.Net is my favourite) rather than by refilling in one of the font sheets.

Look I can even write in Polish

Dobry wieczór,mam tylko miał piwo.

Although the ł character definitely needs to be revisited.
